This project is a partnership with a professional fundraiser and used book seller called GOT BOOKS? They are dedicated to keeping books out of the trash and putting them in the hands of those who need and want them including troops overseas, classrooms, libraries, and other groups. Many are sold in their weekly Charity Book Sale, where half of the profits are given to different nonprofit groups; some are sold online and the unsalvageable ones are recycled as a last resort. Items never end up in the landfill!
As this is a worthwhile mission, we ask that you deposit your hardcover and paperback books, new and old, textbooks, children’s, fiction, and nonfiction in the container located at the northwest corner of the Senior Center building. In addition to books, they are also happy to accept CDs, DVDs, audio books, shoes, belts, purses and clothes.
They do not accept encyclopedias, magazines, newspapers, catalogs, or other periodicals because of the expiration date.
